Discovered by Paul Abel in 1970, in Area 8 near Ileret, on the east side of Lake Turkana, this rather complete lower jaw has been assigned to Paranthropus boisei. It is from a massive adult male and has roots and crowns of most of the teeth. It compares well to other robust mandibles belonging to Paranthropus boisei such as the Peninj mandible from Lake Natron.
